In the Los Angeles Daily Journal, Christa writes a column titled “Time for school districts to prepare to reopen or plan to go to court.” She highlights the lawsuit against the San Francisco Unified School District for not putting forward a reopening plan since the initial COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. The lawsuit is put forward by City Attorney Dennis Herrera.

“Everyone recognizes we’re in uncharted waters, with an unprecedented task before us. Charting a course won’t be easy, but it’s work that must be done. Through his lawsuit Herrera seeks to get that difficult conversation started. School districts need to settle on a plan, even if we have to force them,” Christa writes.
